James Otto has really done this song justice. He's putting Van Morrison's “Into the Mystic” back into the hearts and minds of people who have forgotten about this jewel of a song.
“Into the Mystic” has been covered by several artists over the years, and was taken to the top 40 in June of 1970 by Johnny Rivers. Even so, the best known version is the original, recorded by Van Morrison himself and released on his album, Moondance, in February of 1970.
James Otto adds a sexy, soulful element to this ethereal classic. His version of the song is just as good as the original – or dare I say – better.
James Otto’s cover of “Into the Mystic” not only gives the listener the same peaceful, calm feeling as Van Morrison’s version, but James’s sultry voice adds passion to this old favorite.
